A popular choice for people "on the go" is the Nutrisystem lunch bar. The first thing you would do if you joined the Nutrisystem plan is to choose one of four plans available. They have their Classic Plan, which covers your average customer. They also have plans specifically designed for older women (Silver), a plan for Diabetics, and one for Vegetarians. After you choose your plan, you would choose your Nutrisystem meals based on a 28 day meal plan. You choose and order the foods you want; it's not an automatic selection. You may keep rotating the same menu each month, or select new choices every month.
It about the size of a regular candy bar, but has much more protein (10-12 grams per bar). Much of the protein is soy based. Previously there had been only two choices for the lunch bars, the Chocolate Raspberry Bar and the Fudge Graham Bar.
Recently, Nutrisystem added three new lunch bars to choose from! You can select the Trail Mix Bar, made with a combination of nuts (cashews, peanuts and almonds) and what they call "fruit," but the only fruit ingredient listed is raisins.
You could choose the new Double Chocolate Caramel Bar. Who doesn't like caramel and chocolate? It uses chocolate "crispies" for the main bar part, then has a layer of caramel, and the whole thing is covered with semisweet chocolate. Sounds delicious!
Finally, you could decide to select the new Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar. What a classic taste combination! Dry roasted peanuts and milk chocolate make this bar irresistible. Eating these bars makes you feel like you're eating a rich, delicious candy bar, but you're really having a healthy meal!
As with any weight loss program, make sure to discuss your choices with your doctor before starting any Nutrisystem.
