The latest "miracle diet pill" to hit the market is called Cortislim. People want to know if it really works. The claim is that it controls your appetite; therefore you eat less, and lose weight.
Cortislim in particular targets the hormone cortisol. Cortisol is a natural hormone the body produces. It is emitted from the adrenal glands, and spikes when a person is stressed or experiences the "fight or flight" syndrome. Cortisol has also been called the "fat" hormone, because people with higher levels of cortisol typically eat more and can have higher blood sugar levels. It is obvious that cortisol levels should be controlled for optimal health. Continuous high levels of cortisol can even lead to diabetes. But a pill isn't going to cut it.
Let's break it down. Three of the ingredients in Cortislim are in most multi-vitamins. They are 100mg of Vitamin C, 50 mcg of Chromium, and 150 mg of Calcium. There's really nothing special about those ingredients.
The remaining ingredients are trademarked; a "proprietary blend" (meaning the company put some herbs together and slapped a name on it) consisting of things like green tea leaf, magnolia bark extract, bitter orange peel extract, and banaba leaf extract. (This is not a complete ingredient list.)
None of these vitamins, minerals or herbs is going to help you lose weight, either independently or together, unless you eat less and move more. The Cortislim program, of course, encourages eating healthfully and getting regular exercise while you're taking their product.
There are four different options when it comes to Cortislim: "Cortislim Energy Punch," "Cortislim Control," "Cortislim Burn," and "Cortislim Original." Cortislim does have a website with all the information you would need to make up your own mind.
The bottom line is this: It is highly unlikely that there will ever be a pill that will magically make you thin. The diet and nutrition industry is huge, in part because people don't want to do the hard work. You must exercise for a healthy body. No Cortislim, ifs, ands or "butts" about it!
